Time Keeping
Re imaging abstract ways to track time.
00
problem
Tasked with re imaging ways time is kept without using a digital face or a clock hand to indicate time. Create two different time pieces that encapsulate it.
solution
Creating an Abstract time piece to track time, from a industrial shop feel split hour glass made out of sheet metal, rebar and bike chains all welded together. Designed so you cant see the beads that are filled within tracking your time but more the audible noise of them running through. To a plant accessory that rotates during day and night cycles to give both plants equal amounts of light and keep them growing vertical, rather than over on there side. Tracking sun paths over the season and the gradual slip of time.
Tracking the aspect of growth over time and plants gradual and slow creep up and out. A full rotating planter with painted etchings of vines to indicate a clock-like face on the base.

Designed to sit on a counter top, desk top or any other flat surfaces you may have plants.
capturing a horizontal movement of day and night with light coming and going. The planter is made from plywood with its rotating point being a 3/8" dowel it spins on.
